the singapura eating experience round one

there's this:

weee, look at them go at it like craaaazy!

and then there's this:

aside from shopping, them singaporeans sure love to eat! and again, we had to keep up...

on our first day, we had our late lunch at Takashimaya Food Village within the Takashimaya Shopping Centre, one of the many shopping centers dotting Orchard Road, and with direct access to the MRT Orchard station.

the place was like a maze! various stalls offering various cuisines can be had, and boy, was i confused! i didn't know what to order! there were korean, japanese, thai, chinese and lots more!

hmmmm...what to eat...what to eat...

i must have spent around 20 minutes just going around in circles. eventually, i settled for a thai-style beef & noodle stew which actually tasted good! it was a pretty huge bowl, though, so i wasn't able to finish everything.

and whoa! all those people - they just made me dizzy!

we conquered the food village, and we conquered Ikea afterwards - but that just made our stomachs grumble all over again.

up next, dinner. and we knew just where to go!

BTW, is that Burberry in one of the pics? Are they any cheaper on sale?

Looks like you guys went crazy with the sales and food. There's more around here in HK too.

But isn't it fun to shop in Manila? I heard there's a big Super Mall just recently opened?

oh don't worry K! we're planning to go to HK hopefully this august for its sale naman. it's august nga, di ba? the last time we were there was november last year, and we stayed at knutsford hotel. we'll definitely include HK's Ikea in our itinerary!

you're referring to SM Mall of Asia. it's really huge! but yes, shopping here in manila is fun too. but there are more unique and cheaper items abroad, particularly in HK and Bangkok!

hi Ms. Iska! the (two) guys went to simlim, while us girls roamed bugis, hehe.

haaaa? merong ikea sa beijing? had we known there was an ikea store, and the 2nd biggest in the world at that, that would have made our stay in beijing worth it!

Wow naman Vina, sarap naman buhay mo. Shopping dito, dining doon. hehehe.

for me, parang it's better to go to HK mga 3rd week of July for the sale, kasi pag August parang napagpilian na lahat, pero August naman ang final sale nila, and it means 70-80% off
