i always thought the one behind Jimmy Choo the shoe empire is, well, Jimmy Choo.i guessed wrong.
it's Tamara Mellon, formerly an Accessories Editor of British Vogue.
Jimmy Choo was discovered and just initially commissioned by Mellon to make unique pieces for the magazine. Mellon eventually had grander plans, and after acquiring go-signal from Choo, proceeded to build her dream.
this was 10 years ago. the name is now worth over $300 million.
whew.
now, i want some of those killer stilletos. even if i have to beg, lie or steal.
so choo me.

Those shoes are to die for! They're so sexy and beautiful! I can imagine though that I can only walk two steps with them and then die... definitely to die for then. :)

yep. that's right. Jimmy Choo's the original designer of the shoes but it is Tamara Mellon who is is handling the whole Choo empire. She basically bought his name in effect.
Rumour has it that jimmy choos are cheaper to buy in Malaysia because Mr. Choo still has his own stores over there. Haven't checked it out though :) -

They're very pretty to look at, but stilletos are not just for me. I can't walk in those. Besides, I have wide feet. :)
